The Best of Both Worlds - Recognizing Ed & Vicki Longo
Tuesday, September 06, 2005 - Vicki Longo, Upper Cape resident and Falmouth Hospital supporter, learned first-hand the importance of quality health care, close to home. Recently, Vicki required emergency services at the Falmouth Hospital, and she now sings the praises of her care.
“My treatment was excellent, clinically top notch, administered with compassion and understanding. I was put at ease right from the start.
“Many of my friends and neighbors have relocated to the Cape as full time residents. Some believed that quality health care was found only in big city hospitals. What a wonderful surprise to find that we have top quality, compassionate health care right here on the Cape, in our own backyards! Our health care system is growing – but has managed to keep the small town atmosphere - it’s the best of both worlds. Falmouth Hospital depends on people like us to keep quality care here, close to home.”
Vicki and her husband Ed give regularly to the Annual Fund, but also recognize the importance of giving of their time. They both volunteered at the Falmouth Hospital Summertime Gala and Silent Auction, and this past June, they hosted a reception for the artists who supported the Gala.
The Longos are also Charter Members of the Lightkeeper’s Society. Vicki gratefully shares, “You feel like you have a friend to help you with your medical needs. My husband travels a lot, so it’s comforting to know I won’t be alone if I have to go to the ER again.”
